Billwright – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Billwright app (“the App”) handles your information. Billwright is designed to be a local, offline job and invoice tracker for small businesses, contractors, and self-employed users.

In plain language: Billwright does not run ads, does not require a network connection for daily use, and your business data stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it.

1. Who we are

2. What information Billwright stores

Billwright is a business tool that lets you manage information you enter yourself. Examples include:

• Customer information (names, phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, notes).
• Job and project details (job titles, descriptions, dates, statuses, notes).
• Invoice and payment information (invoice numbers, line items, prices, taxes, totals, payment status).
• Time or billable hours data if you choose to track time in the App.
• App settings and preferences (such as theme, display options, and other configuration data).

All of this information is user-generated content: you choose what to enter and are responsible for ensuring you have any necessary permissions to store that data on your device.

3. Where and how your data is stored

3.1 On-device storage

Billwright stores your data locally on your device, using the app’s private storage (and/or local databases such as SQLite / DataStore / similar mechanisms, depending on the current version). Under normal use, this data is not automatically sent to any external server controlled by us.

3.2 Backups, exports, and imports

Billwright may include features that allow you to:

• Export your data to a file (for backup, transfer, or your own records).
• Import data from a previously exported file.

When you export a file, you choose where that file is saved (for example, local storage, removable SD card, external drive, cloud storage, email, or other apps/services). Any data that leaves the App via export or sharing is under your control and subject to the privacy and security practices of the destination you choose (for example, your cloud provider or email service).

When you import data, the App will read the file you select and apply the information to your local data according to the import options you choose (such as merging with existing data or replacing it, if such options are provided).

4. Network use and third-party services

4.1 No network required for daily use

Billwright is designed so that daily usage (viewing, adding, and editing your customers, jobs, and invoices) does not require an internet connection.

4.2 Google Play Store and Google Play Billing

If you install Billwright from the Google Play Store, Google may collect device and account information in accordance with its own policies. You can review Google’s practices in their own Privacy Policy.

If the App offers in-app purchases, they are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive your full payment card details. Payment processing and associated personal data are handled by Google or your payment provider under their terms and policies.

4.3 No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs

Billwright does not include built-in third-party advertising networks, and it does not embed third-party analytics SDKs for tracking your behavior across apps.

5. How we use your information

The information you enter into Billwright is used solely for the purpose of providing the app’s core functions:

• Displaying and organizing your customers, jobs, and invoices.
• Calculating totals, balances, and other job or invoice-related values.
• Keeping your settings and preferences so the app behaves the way you choose.
• Creating/exporting/importing backup files, if you choose to use those features.

We do not sell or rent your data and do not use it for advertising or user profiling.

6. Data sharing

Under normal operation, Billwright does not automatically transmit your data to us or to any third party. Your data may only be shared when you choose to:

• Export a backup file and store it in an external location (such as cloud storage, email, or another app).
• Share screenshots, reports, or exported data using your device’s share options.

Any sharing outside of the App is performed by you, using services and destinations you choose. Those services have their own privacy practices.

7. Data retention and deletion

7.1 On your device

Data is stored on your device for as long as you keep it there. You can:

• Delete individual customers, jobs, invoices, or other records from within the App (where features exist).
• Clear or reset data using options provided in the App (if available).
• Uninstall the App, which will typically remove its local data from your device’s app storage.

Note: Uninstalling the App usually does not remove any backup files you exported to other locations (e.g., SD card, cloud storage). You must delete those manually if you no longer wish to keep them.

7.2 Our servers

At this time, we do not operate a cloud sync service for Billwright. We therefore do not keep copies of your business data on our own servers as part of normal app usage.

8. Security

We design Billwright so that your business data stays on your device, which reduces exposure to remote breaches. However, no system is completely secure.

You are responsible for:

• Controlling access to your device (for example, using screen lock, PIN, password, or biometric lock).
• Choosing secure locations when saving your exported backups.
• Deleting outdated or unneeded backups from external locations if you no longer need them.

If we become aware of a security issue in the App that could affect your data, we will typically address it via an app update distributed through the store where you downloaded Billwright.

9. Children’s privacy

Billwright is intended for use by adults and business users. It is not designed for children and is not marketed toward individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this App.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or in applicable laws. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Continued use of Billwright after a revised Privacy Policy has been posted means you accept the updated Policy.
